News and Announcements
BCSSA is creating a summer dryland program for all swimmers interested.
The Cost is $10 per swimmer for the time that this program runs.
Online programming will be available starting May 4th, 2020 -unsure of the end date?
Each week we will follow this schedule:
Monday – Aerobic Fitness workshop
Tuesday – Kids classroom class
Wednesday – Strength/Flexibility/Agility workshop
Thursday – Adult classroom
Friday – FUN FRIDAYS!
The BCSSA is also hoping to launch a podcast in the coming month and we will send you details on this as it becomes available.
Each Monday to Thursday workshop will require members to register in advance and we will make sure that each workshop includes a description of the activities, the coach that will be leading it, and the target age groups to participate. We will be using the Zoom platform to deliver most of these workshops.
Please see the attached message from the BCSSA President regarding the effect of COVID-19 on the BCSSA.
Summer Season 2020 – Timelines and decisions
BCSSA recognizes that clubs and members are anxious to have confirmation on our 2020 Summer swimming season sooner rather than later. In our current fluid global environment, these decisions with their long-term financial ramifications are difficult to make and, as such, we have determined key dates on which to make strategic planning decisions.
Deadlines for the BCSSA Board regarding this season
April 15: Decision deadline for traditional May 1 season start date
May 1: Decision deadline for initiating a modified 2020 summer swimming season with a traditional Provincial Championships held at UBC.
May 15: Decision deadline for initiating a modified 2020 summer swimming season with a simulated Provincial Championships run Regionally.
Please know that, despite our best efforts and continual monitoring of information sources, nothing is set in stone due to this rapidly changing situation… we are doing the best we can to predict an unknown future!
Please exercise patience and kindness as we move forward together (yet apart!)

We also understand you may have many questions and concerns about scheduled programs, user fees and fitness passes. We can assure you that we are working diligently on all aspects of these facility closures, and we will have answers for you very soon.
